DfE confirm formula for doubling PE and School Sport Premium

Today, the Department for Education (DfE) have confirmed how the increased Primary PE and School Sport funding will be allocated from September 2017.

- Schools with 16 or fewer pupils will receive £1,000 per pupil;

- Schools with 17 or more pupils will receive £16,000, with an additional sum of £10 per pupil.

Aspire team member, Adam Sheehan, spends a lot of time working with schools to ensure their Primary PE and School Sport Premium is spent with sustainability and impact at the forefront of their minds. Commenting on the news from DfE, Adam said “This is a vital development in the on-going mission to create a healthy, active nation. The increased funding is a big boost to help all primary schools enhance their offering and support in PE, sport and physical activity to their children and the wider school community. It’s imperative that everyone in the sector ensures the funding is spent wisely and we all demonstrate the impact it has on children's health and wellbeing.”
