Keynote Speaker Announced: Dr Peter Collins
Why do we do what we do?
Because every one of us knows the value of physical activity.
But how do we know?
Research, evidence, proof; it’s a fact.
Dr Peter Collins, an academic in Public Health, contributes to this significant research, focusing on the physical activity, health and development of children and young people.
In 2014, Peter completed his PhD with a thesis titled ‘The influence of the built environment on young people’s health and physical activity’. Peter's research ranges from exploring the built and social environmental determinants of children’s physical activity and health, to investigating school-based physical activity interventions.
With work published in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and presented at international conferences, Peter now joins the West Midlands PE and School Sport Conference. Grounded in evidence, Peter will be answering the questions, what gets children active and what are the beneficial effects of active schools and active children?
Peter’s keynote will equip you with the evidence, the research, the proof, so when you’re asked why use physically active learning, you’re ready with a winning argument.
