Keynote Speaker Announced: Michael Crichton, Chair, afPE
Put PE at the heart of school life and provide a diverse, rich and needs driven provision of high-quality PE, sport and physical activity (PESSPA) both in schools and in the community.
What’s the result?
Positive change in society, both in terms of citizenship and well-being.
Michael Crichton, Chair of the Association for Physical Education (afPE), is committed to this belief. At the West Midlands PE and School Sport Conference he will tell you why.
With his wealth of educational experience, Michael wil be delivering both a keynote and running a workshop.
What’s Michael’s experience? He’s been a teacher, Head of Department, member of a school’s Senior Leadership Team, a School Governor, Local Authority Advisory Teacher, Local Authority PE & Sport Adviser, a Standards and Excellence Officer and Schools Learning and Improvement Adviser for Suffolk County Council. Beyond being the afPE Chair, Michael works as an independent physical education consultant and fulfils a role as an afPE Quality Mark Validator and is a member of the National Quality Mark Panel.
See, we did say it was substantial.
From 41 years of experience in PE and school sport, Michael has garnered his philosophy, emphasising the importance of the ‘5 P’s’: Passion, Purpose, Positivity, Productivity and Partnerships. Each of these characteristics is understood by Michael to be essential for effective leadership, with an added ‘T’, Trust.
Michael’s passion for sport is indisputable, a passion shown both through his work and his 54 years of being a dedicated Nottingham Forest supporter.
To any Derby fans, we hope you can put that aside just this once…
