The positive impact of Aspire’s work among communities across the West Midlands has been recognised through the company being named as a finalist for a prestigious business award.

Aspire Active Education Group Ltd is among four companies in the running for the Community Impact prize at the 2021 West Midlands Business Masters Awards, organised by regional news website Business Desk.

TheBusinessDesk.com launched the 2021 West Midlands Business Masters Awards to celebrate the companies in the region which have achieved outstanding results over the past 12 months. The winners will be revealed at TheBusinessDesk.com’s annual West Midlands dinner on November 11 at the Macdonald Burlington hotel in Birmingham.

The awards recognition comes after Aspire adapted to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic to deliver impactful programmes to help West Midlands communities recover from the impact on health and wellbeing.

Having faced disruption in 2020 due to successive lockdowns, leading children’s physical activity provider Aspire, which has its HQ in Spitfire Road, Birmingham, has led the way in partnering with schools and like-minded companies to give young people opportunities to stay active.

During the pandemic, Aspire has survived the toughest times in its 16 year history while supporting the network it has built, providing invaluable information and support for its network of children activity providers and partner schools and other organisations.

This summer, thousands of children from disadvantaged families across the West Midlands are getting holiday activities and healthy food thanks to the government funded HAF programme delivered by Ofsted registered school holiday childcare provider, Aspire Active Camps.

Founder and Director of Business Development Paul Griffiths said the awards recognition capped a challenging but successful 12 months for Aspire. Paul said:

“Being recognised for Aspire’s impact upon the community means a lot as our team has worked hard to ensure we ‘stepped up’ to help young people and their families access much needed activities during such unprecedented times."

“With the impact of Covid still being felt, we will continue to shape opportunities for further progress. We work as a team in everything we do, within the organisation and across our partnerships so this recognition is an endorsement of everyone’s efforts. Aspire is proud to make a difference in the West Midlands, so being recognised at a regional level is pleasing.”

Since launching in 2005, Aspire Active Education Group Ltd has built a national reputation for delivering services around engaging young people through physical activity via four operations: Aspire Training Solutions, its arm around skills; Aspire Active Camps, an activity-focussed school holiday childcare provider; and Aspire Sports, which works directly with schools in the region. Aspire Active Partnership is a network of children’s activity providers, created by Aspire to form a values-driven community that raises standards and enhances activity opportunities.
