West Midlands PE and School Sport Conference 2019 - Workshop leader Danielle Griffiths
'Effective techniques to enhance physical activity in the Early Years'
Workshop: 'Effective techniques to enhance physical activity in the Early Years'
The first five years of a child’s life lay the foundation for their future.
It makes sense then, that if children are physically active in those early years, lifelong behaviours are established, behaviours that have a fundamental impact on their health and well-being.
So, how can we support our early year pupils in developing these crucial habits? Join Danielle Griffiths in her practical session at this year’s West Midlands PE and School Sport Conference to find out!
Having spent a decade as a primary school teacher and progressing to Early Years Coordinator, Danielle developed valuable strategies to enhance the inclusion of physical activity in her day-to-day teaching. Why? Because physical activity enriches cognitive development, imagination, social skills and well-being.
Recognising this, Danielle put her plans into action and is now inspiring others to do the same as an Early Years Specialist Tutor at Aspire.
Danielle leads on the delivery of the Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification with a physical development specialism and is now bringing her expertise to us. Take part in Danielle’s session and you’ll gain creative and cross-curricular strategies to embed physical activity within that all important Early Years Foundation Stage.
We want to do everything we can to give the next generation the best start in life; encouraging physical activity at an early age is one sure way we can.
