When asked ‘what do you want to be when you grow up?’, footballer is often a popular answer amongst children. Getting to play your favourite sport every single day, what could be better? And at Football Academy they can do exactly that!

For all those parents of football fanatics out there, Football Academy at Active Camps is the sort of school holiday childcare you’ve been looking for! Our FA qualified coaches create a fun environment in which children aged 5 - 14 can learn all aspects of the game. Plus, you can relax safe in the knowledge that all our academies at Active Camps are Ofsted registered, find out why this is so important here.

What about different skill levels?

All skill levels are welcome at the Football Academy; we make sure no one is left on the side-line by teaming up children of similar skill levels so all get equal time on the ball.

What do sessions focus on?

In order to develop children’s technical and tactical knowledge of the full game, targeted sessions during the week include:

Receiving the ball focussing on quickly controlling the ball in a tight situation and applying this to a game situation.

Playing with limited touches – focussing on moving the ball quickly and combining with teammates with a small number of touches.

Long passing – focussing on how to make a long pass and when it would be a good idea to apply this to a football game situation.

Goalkeeping – throughout the week there will be various drills and activities where children will have the opportunity to test their skills in goal if they wish.

Tournament – each day on the Football Academy there is a friendly competitive game with a tournament at the end of the week for that added excitement!

Do you need to bring anything?

We ask that children bring their boots, trainers, shin pads and wet weather clothing  as they'll be outside on the grass and Astroturf and unfortunately here you can never rule out the chance of rain.

What are the timings?

We know how tricky the school holidays are when it comes to trying to find childcare that works with your schedule and responsibilities. Which is why we offer a standard day and extra time.

Standard day: 8am – 4pm

Xtra time: 4pm – 6pm

Plus drop off is between 8am – 10am, during which time children take part in games and activities, giving you that extra bit of flexibility.
