Active Leaders

ActiveLeaders.pngA series of challenges for young people aged 12 – 14 to achieve the Aspire Young Leader Award

All young people who attend the Active Leaders Academy will receive a challenge card, outlining each challenge and the number of stickers awarded for the successful completion. Work your way through the challenges, collecting all stickers to receive your Aspire Young Leaders Award.

This Academy provides young people with the knowledge and confidence to organise and lead activities and the practical experience of supporting small groups of children.

How is the Aspire Active Leaders’ Academy delivered?

As the programme is challenge based, there is no minimum and maximum time for completion. The length of time taken to complete all the challenges will depend on the young person’s attendance and willingness to learn.

How many challenges will my child complete?

There are 30 challenges to complete in total, which are split into 5 categories. However, some of the challenges can be completed away from camps.

Can you pass or fail? Is there a final assessment?

No. There is no pass or fail nor is there a final assessment. The programme has been designed to allow Young Leaders to move through the challenges at their own pace and will be encouraged to complete challenges when their mentor feels necessary.

Aspire's organisation – from project management, back office administration and on ground delivery – has been incredibly good which has enabled the programme to not only be a success but we have been able to include a much larger number than originally thought.

Our children have enjoyed the approach to maths, through the Maths on the Move Programme - it focuses their learning and shows them the importance of maths in everything (it's not just a subject).

This is the 3rd time that my children have come to Aspire Active Camps, they love it and are already asking to go back! My younger daughter is brimming with confidence from her new-found sports skills and my older daughter has discovered a love for basketball. Top marks for the team all round!
