Cycling is a fun, healthy and environmentally-friendly activity, but there are health and safety issues to be considered – especially with students using bikes to travel to school.

Aspire has created a number of programmes to address these issues, promoting safety and increasing engagement among previously inactive groups.

The Aspire Sports cycling programmes develop your students’ skills in a fun yet safe environment while promoting cycling as part of a healthy, active lifestyle.

We have bespoke courses to cater for specific age groups, with all programmes delivered by National Standard instructors.

Designed to give your students the skills and confidence to ride their bikes safely on the road, Aspire offers both Level 1 and Level 2 Bikeability provision.

At Level 1 young people will learn to carry out a simple safety check, control the bike without wobbling and master quick and effective braking.

Level 2 provision includes road safety, hand signals, identifying hazards and using the Highway Code.

Young people are awarded badges and certificates upon successful completion, and Aspire programmes can always be tailored to meet the requirements of your school.

We can provide all equipment, including bikes, helmets and learning resources - greatly increasing participation levels.

Funding for Bikeability can be gained from a variety of sources including various school sport partnerships, Youth Sports Trust and the Department for Transport.

The Big Numbers

We have been delivering a first class Bikeability programme since 2009, and participating schools have reported that ALL CHILDREN enjoyed the experience.

100% of schools would recommend our provision to another school and were completely satisfied with the overall service we provided

More than 2,500 children have achieved Bikeability Level 1 and 2,400 Bikeability Level 2
