Public Health Support - Health and Wellbeing

Local authorities, via Public Health England, have commissioned Aspire on several weight management projects for young people and their parents since 2010.

Offering high quality, accessible, value added and impact driven services is essential in today’s financial climate. Aspire offer a strong project management capability record that includes experience of liaising with commissioners, promotion, delivery, resource provision and the recording and collation of feedback and data.

Active Families

A preventative programme that was initially commissioned through Birmingham City Council’s health initiative, Be Active. The practical and engaging weight management programme is proven to enhance self-esteem, increase physical activity participation levels and improve the knowledge and understanding of leading a healthy, active lifestyle.

First Steps

Commissioned through Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, the First Steps programme targets primary school aged children and delivers practical support and guidance on healthy eating and physical activity.

Next Steps

Next Steps provides information, tips and ideas to motivate change in secondary school aged young people to make healthier choices with their diet and physical activity trends. Aspire led on the physical activity delivery on both programmes and worked along nutritionists to provide expert support.

Aspire's organisation – from project management, back office administration and on ground delivery – has been incredibly good which has enabled the programme to not only be a success but we have been able to include a much larger number than originally thought.

Our children have enjoyed the approach to maths, through the Maths on the Move Programme - it focuses their learning and shows them the importance of maths in everything (it's not just a subject).

This is the 3rd time that my children have come to Aspire Active Camps, they love it and are already asking to go back! My younger daughter is brimming with confidence from her new-found sports skills and my older daughter has discovered a love for basketball. Top marks for the team all round!
